Rita Chiyayika ZAMBIA Fashion Week organiser and Afro Multi Media Productions director, Karen Nakawala has confirmed October 17 to 19 as the official date for this year’s Zambia Fashion Week. Speaking during the audition held in Lusaka, Ms Nakawala says the on-coming event will create a platform for models to try out their skills and promote their modelling career.

THE University of Zambia Student Union (UNZASU) will next academic year  start hosting a social gala to revamp the diminishing entertainment activities at the institution.  UNZASU social and cultural secretary Joseph Nsama, says the social gala would be used as a platform for students to showcase their talents and market themselves to the outside world.

Soft spoken Miss UNZA 2013 Audrey Banda says her newly achieved crown has inspired her to consider participating in other modeling gigs. Groomed by former Miss UNZA winners Samantha Gabriel (2010) and Nkombo Mwiinga (2011), the 21 year old says she is now more passionate about modeling and hopes to take it further. Miss UNZA is a beauty pageant that is staged every second semester of an academic year, one that is meant for socialisation and entertainment. This year’s contest was held on 5 July 2013.

WHEN people hear the term ‘King James Version’ (KJV), the first thing that pops into their minds is the Bible. However, on the Zambian music scene the term brings to mind something very different. It breeds thoughts of a revolutionary artist better known for his work as a producer and songwriter, named James Kingsley Sakala popularly known as ‘King James’. King James discovered his artistic side in 2003 while doing community drama and training in popular theatre in Mkushi.

THE University of Zambia was last night the centre of attraction for party lovers around Lusaka as it hosted the 100 years of Lusaka celebrations. Among the musicians who graced the show were Amayenge band who performed live on stage. They performed tracks like their classic hit 'Mao' and 'Dailesi'. It was clear that most patrons were eager to listen to these songs as they are a reflection of the Zambian culture.
