In a statement issued to the media LMC Public Relations Manager Gideon Thole said the council has started a process which will culminate into temporary pot-hole patching works on Luanshya-Ndola and other strategic roads that are affected by the rains.

Mr. Thole said LMC has started mobilizing close to K3, 000, 000 to be used for pot-hole patching and road marking in township roads.

“The council has started the process of mobilizing close to three million (K 3000, 000) to be used for pot-hole patching on strategic roads and road marking in township roads,” said the LMC Public Relations Manager.

He said that the Local Authority is doing everything possible to ensure that temporal works are done on all strategic roads as they wait for full scale rehabilitation and maintenance under the C400.

Furthermore, Mr. Thole said LMC Engineering Services Department is working closely with other stakeholders such as Road Development Agency (RDA) and National Road Fund Agency (NFRA) to ensure the success of the project.

And LMC Public Relations Manager has expressed gratitude for the contribution made by Bus and Taxi Owners Associations of Zambia (BTOAZ) towards the patching project.

“As Local Authority, we are grateful to organizations such as Bus and Taxi Owners Associations of Zambia who have donated 90 pockets of 50 kilograms bags of cement to the project,” said Mr. Thole.
