CITY OF LUSAKA FACES POSSIBLE BAN

City of Lusaka Football Club is at the verge of being banned from the MTN super league by Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for failure to abide by the rules and regulations stipulated by  Association.

FAZ Communication Manager, Desmond Katongo, explained that the Association has noted with concern the happenings around City of Lusaka Football Club and how that there is confusion at the club.

“FAZ will not condone any more confusion at City of Lusaka Football Club and wishes to remind the parties involved of their responsibility to the game,” Said Mr. Katongo.

The Association has since directed City of Lusaka FC to harmonise its separate factions into one team in order to participate in the 2018 league and has reminded involved parties to act responsibly.

Additionally, An Interim Committee headed by Mr Kaitano Chungu as Committee Chairman was appointed by City of Lusaka FC to oversee matters pertaining to the running of the club on interim basis.

FAZ has given the Football Club a 120-days period to normalise effective 6th March, 2018.

The Association also considers the ongoing divisions to be an internal matter and expects that these will be resolved internally by the concerned parties’ failure to which FAZ will be compelled to protect the integrity of the game and may invoke protective measures which might include suspension of the club from the league.

FAZ has further cautioned that any group of persons failing to follow this position will be subject to the Association’s disciplinary processes.

Meanwhile, NAPSA Star player, Masosa Bola is back into play after serving a six-match ban by his club for unruly behaviour on the field of play.
