PMRC COUNSELS STUDENTS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF RESEARCH

Policy Monitoring and Research Centre (PMRC) has urged students at various institutions to value research as it was significant in career building and performance.

Speaking during an awards presentation at the University of Zambia Great East Road Campus were students successfully completed a research training, PMRC Executive Director Bernadette Deka said that the research was aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge on conducting qualitative research.

Ms. Deka noted that research skills were an important tool that would be useful in current academic activities as they pursue different careers across Zambia’s various economic sectors.

“As PMRC, students and young people in general are at the Centre of our programmatic objectives,” she said.

The Director noted that the institutional mission of unlocking Zambia’s potential cannot be achieved without ensuring that the youth were at the Centre of development.

She further said that PMRC will continue to engage with the youth through their work by empowering the youth through capacity building programs.

PMRC awarded over 80 students to the University of Zambia Business and Economics Association (UNZABECA), and other different programs who successfully participated in the research training that was conducted at the institution.
