PETERSEN DROPS SPATACUS

Award winning Zambian dancehall Musician Mukubesa Mundia alias as Petersen Zagaze is set to release his 6th Studio album titled Spartacus.

Speaking to Lusaka Star, Petersen said he decided to name his album Spatacus after being motivated by the 1951 Howard Fast Novel bearing the same title.

“The story concerning the title was about a Soldier who was taken into slavery then later became a Gladiator in order to win freedom for his beloved in every fight he fought,” he said.

Petersen said most of the songs in the album were speaking for a lot of people especially those who could not speak for themselves.

“People need freedom of the Mindset, Freedom from slavery and that was what Spartacus was doing for his People,” he added

Zagaze said Spatacus album was taking a risk to fight for the people that whose cries were not heard and all those who couldn’t complain about what they earn.

He added that his albums mostly had themes but for Spatacus it was very vast and general because of the issues it was addressing.

Spatacus album is more like Bobojani album and the only thing missing was a gospel song,” he said.

According to Petersen, Spatacus is a general overview of Life because it was addressing other issues such as Religion, Society, and Politics.

The eighteen track album contained tracks such as BP, Fwenkula, Mbambo, Chisense and Spatacus of which nine were produced by himself while the other nine were produced by the likes of Shinko Beats, G-show Records, Magician, Ben Blazer and Pachi Corner.

However Petersen also reviewed that like his other albums his fans should not expect a lot of other artists because he had only featured two Artists in his entire Spatacus album.

“I always work alone and this time, two people made it on my album feature list that was Macky 2 and Yugo,” he said.

Petersen also advised that his fans should pay extra attention to the song BP because of the message but in general all the songs are communicating something that will benefit everyone who listens.
