UNZA INTER HOSTEL SOCCER PREMIER LEAGUE UPDATE

The 2018 University of Zambia  Inter hostel soccer league continued over the last week with some interesting fixtures.

Week 3 was fully equipped  with the first midweek  game that  took place  on Wednesday  afternoon between President  and Africa hostels, with President losing  to Africa by 3-0, with Philip and Sydney among the goalscorers.

Games  continued over the weekend with the first game played on Saturday  afternoon between Veterinary (Vet) and  International (Inter hostels).

The game started with a very high temple and in less than 5 minutes International took the lead through their main man fondly known as  “Benzema”.

Vet upped their game shortly after conceding,  through to the halftime interval and this went on to the second half till the pressure paid off as Vet got their equalizer through Edward Mwinga AKA Griezman.

Vet continued to dominate the game,hitting the post twice and forcing saves from Inter goal minder Ronald. There could have been an upset from Inter but their substitute striker Chile failed to convert from five yards out and it meant that neither team could carry the day.  The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the second game of the day, Kwacha and Kalingalinga faced off, with Kwacha showing their skill and going on to win by 5  goals to nil.

The goals came through from Jonathan, who scored a brace,with Muzo Million, Pablo and  Moffat each scoring a goal.

Saturday  games ended with October facing off against  Zambezi, with October winning by 2 goals to nil through a brace scored by Mulenga.

Sunday games begun on a high note with Africa punishing Kafue by 7 goals to nil, with Samora, Philip, Kabelenga, Edwin, Maevelous and Costa among the goal scorers.

The second game on Sunday involved Postgraduates students taking on Mwanawasa hostels, with the Postgraduates winning the game through a lone goal scored by  Edward.

Sunday games ended Soweto beating TP by 6 goals to nil with Herbert and Omelo scoring a brace, while Ben and Knight came through with the other goals.
