KAFUE-MAZABUKA ROAD NETWORK SET FOR COMPLETION BY 2020

The Road Development Agency (RDA) has said works on the Kafue-Mazabuka road network project are to be completed by 2020.

Speaking in a phone interview with Lusaka Star, RDA Public Relations Manager Masuzyo Ndhlovu disclosed that the duration of the project which set off on April 17, 2019, is scheduled to end by October 2020.

Mr Ndlovu said the project which is set to run for 18 months is being commissioned by China Henan International Cooperation Group Company Limited who have already moved on site.

The Kafue-Mazabuka road is an important route as it conveys international traffic coming from Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.

Mr Ndhlovu explained.

He added that the road construction has been divided into two different lots of which one is a truck route called P1 which runs from Kafue Turnpike to Chikankata.

The division of the road construction project will help in speeding up the entire process.

He said.

The road construction has been enhanced due to the potholes and ditches that it has developed overtime so as to reduce traffic congestion and the number of accidents.

RDA Public Relations Manager urged the public to cooperate with contractors on site so as to ensure that the process is complete at the scheduled time.
