The University of Zambia (UNZA) held its 54th annual graduation ceremony, conferring degrees to hundreds of students who have worked tirelessly to achieve their academic goals.
Among the graduates was a standout individual by the name of Angela Kaleya, better known as ‘Small Small’ who has made a name for herself both on the sports field and class.
Kaleya studied Public Relations and Advertising(PRA), she is not only a brilliant student but also a talented athlete who has consistently excelled in track and field events.
On the track, she has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with, consistently coming first in 400m races. Her speed and agility have earned her recognition and admiration from her peers and coaches.
However, her athletic prowess is not limited to track and field. She has also showcased her skills on the soccer field, playing as as left winger for the UNZA soccer team for three years.
Her dedication to sports has not only honed her physical skills but also taught her valuable lessons about teamwork, discipline and perseverance.
Despite her busy schedule as an athlete, the graduand managed to excel academically, pursuing her passion for communication, developing skills that will serve her well in her future career.
Her ability to balance sports and academics is a testament to her hard work and determination.When asked about her philosophy on balancing school and sports, Kakeya said, School is not a barrier to do what she loves.
This belief has guided her throughout her university journey, allowing her to pursue her passions without compromise.
Her story is an inspiration to many, showing that with dedication and hard work, it is possible to excel in multiple areas.
