Yaluma challenges local entrepreneurs

Minster of Commerce, Trade and Industry Christopher Yaluma has challenged local entrepreneurs to develop better packaging and branding solutions for their products to compete on the international market.

Mr. Yaluma has also urged local entrepreneurs to ensure that they improve the quality of their finished products to attract customers and penetrate internal markets.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yaluma said government is keen to see that entrepreneurs are providing an opportunity for the country to diversify its economy from mining.

Mr. Yaluma has since called on local investors and entrepreneurs to venture into and support the development and growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) because of their potential to realize the country’s diversification programme.

And Mr. Yaluma said he was impressed with the level of ingenuity in women entrepreneurs stating that government will endeavour to support the growth of women entrepreneurship for sustainable development.

He stressed the need for value addition to products noting that this aids in achieving maximum potential and profitability for a sustainable business venture.
