Zambian hip hop heavyweights Slap Dee and have made the list of nominees for the Annual African Muzik Magazine Awards Festival (AFRIMMA).
AFRIMMA is the biggest African music award ceremony in Diaspola that creates a platform to promote the diversity of African music by bringing top African talents worldwide to celebrate African music.
King Dizzo is in the category of Best Male Southern African alongside Jah Praiyzah from Zimbabwe, Master KG, Cassper Nyovest, Tshego and Yanga Chief all from South Africa among others.
Meanwhile, Bombshell Grenade got her first AFRIMMA nomination in the Best Female Rap Act with Moonaya from Senegal, Rosa Ree from Tanzania, Keko from Uganda, and Rouge from South Africa among others.
The awards are split around 21 categories and South African Master KG bagged the most nominations in the this year’s contest with his Jerusalema hit in Artist of the Year, Best Male Southern African, Song of the Year and the best Collaboration for the reminder that featured Nigerian Burna Boy.
This year’s AFRIMMA Awards are the 7th edition where African Music unearths new talents and in the past years stars have been recognized from the Northern to the Southern part of the continent.
The AFRIMMA awards are set to be held virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic but the African flag will be flown to countdown the epoch and history making event set for November 15th, 2020.
