Texila American University Zambia (TAU) has announced the introduction of Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree programs in their April 2019 intake as approved by the Higher Education Authority, Health Professions Council of Zambia and the General Nursing Council of Zambia.
The Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at TAU-Zambia is being introduced in line with the National Health Policy’s theme ‘A Nation of Healthy and Productive People’.
The University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Ajay Poddar said in an effort to contribute to Zambia’s vision to attain quality health care for all, TAU-Zambia was committed to ensuring that it produces competent health personnel equal to the task.
He added that no one plans to get sick but every citizen will need medical care at some point in their lives and that it is therefore necessary to prioritise training.
He highlighted that TAU’s resolve to partner with government was in line with the Vision 2030 which has prioritized health and commitment to the attainment of required professionals, especially in Pharmacy and Nursing verticals of the health sector.
These two programs will produce a high level of graduate professionals who will not only offer clinical care and community health but will also be equipped to undertake research, leadership and management to fulfill the ongoing employment demands at national, regional and global level, said Professor Poddar.
Professor Poddar further commended government for creating an enabling environment for private universities to thrive.
Founded in 2010, TAU has evolved into an international education provider with a diverse student base.
Over the years, Texila American University has enrolled over 4000 students from 70+ countries across its varied program verticals.
