ZBBF TO INTRODUCE NEW MR ZAMBIA CATEGORIES

The Zambia Bodybuilding Federation (ZBBF) has disclosed that this year’s Mr Zambia competition will be divided into weight categories so as to suit the international judging standards.

In an interview with Lusaka Star, ZBBF President Cornelius Chanda said the competition will have four categories which are heavyweight, lightweight, middleweight and bantamweight.

“In the bantamweight category we will have those weighing 35 kilograms and above competing on their own and the same will be done for the 90 kilograms and above in the heavyweight. And where prizes are concerned, we need to come up with plans to raise money,” Chanda said.

He said the federation is working hard to make this year’s Mr Zambia contest a big competition.

Chanda said he intends to expose local talents by ensuring that the Zambian bodybuilders participated in all the continental competitions slated for this year.

Meanwhile, he has revealed that the Federation will soon introduce the ‘Miss Fitness competition’ which will give an opportunity to local female bodybuilders to showcase their muscles for the first time in Zambia.
