GBMV turns focus to African volleyball championship

Green Buffaloes Men’s Volleyball (GBMV) team says it is currently preparing for the Africa Men’s Volleyball Championship which will be held in May in Tunisia.

In an interview with Lusaka Star, GBMV team Coach Lackson Mazumbo said the team is getting ready for the continental tournament ahead.

“Preparations for the Africa Volleyball Club Championship are on course to travel to Tunisia for a Volleyball tournament that will be held from 9th to 21st May 2023 in Tunisia,” he said.

Mazumbo said the team has been working hard in training to ensure a good performance in the upcoming tournament.

“We have been training for a long time to ensure that they perform well in the upcoming games and so far they are no challenges,” he explained.

The Coach added that there is need to play friendlies against teams in the region as part of the preparations and to test the team’s ability to compete in Tunisia.

Mazumbo also said that there have been additions to the squad with players from other clubs to strengthen the team.

“The Buffaloes will travel to Tunisia to compete and not to make up numbers, we have added Clement Chama from Nkwazi and Mwape Chifwembe from Green Eagles to cement the team,” Mazumbo said.

Meanwhile, a team member Noah Mudulu said the team is looking forward to be in the tournament and they are preparing adequately to win the tournament.
