OPPOSITION DISPLEASED WITH MULUNGUSHI TEXTILES CLOSURE.

The Zambia Empowerment and Development (ZED) Party have expressed displeasure in the shutdown of Zambia China Mulungushi Textiles in Kabwe. ZED spokesperson Mr. Wesley Miyanda said the termination of operations defeated the idea of improving the standards of living for Zambian people.

He said that shutting down the Textile Company left the people of Central Province jobless.
Mr. Miyanda advised Government to be very cautious in handling issues pertaining to unemployment and urged Zambian citizens to fight unemployment in order to subdue street vending.

Meanwhile, Kabwe District Commissioner Mr. Dominic Mulenga said that the closure took place in order to pave way for renovations. He declared a restoration period of 18-24 months of refurbishment.

The Zambia China Mulungushi Textiles which was opened after the August 2016 Elections was indefinitely closed on February 9, 2017.
