HUNGRY LION OASIS MALL OUTLET RE-OPENS

Lusaka City Council (LCC) has permitted Hungry Lion Oasis Mall outlet (bear Intercity Bus Terminus) which shut yesterday to re-open for business.

The permission to re-open follows management’s quick response to work on the sewer discharge which was experienced outside the shop yesterday.

A video went viral on social yesterday showing sewer discharge outside the shop while business was allegedly going on inside the shop.

The video prompted Lusaka City Council to immediately dispatch Public Health Inspectors to go and assess the situation on the ground.

After the assessment, Public Health Inspectors declared the situation as a health risk and immediately shut down the shop until the problem is fixed.

However, Oasis Mall management in the early hours of today acted by deploying plumbers to work on the blockage.

By 07:00 hours the problem had been sorted out and Public Health Inspectors were invited for inspection.

The inspection was done and inspectors were satisfied with the works hence the decision to permit management to re-open the food outlet.

The place has also been disinfected to make sure that there are no risks of food contamination.

Members of the public are therefore advised that the outlet is now fit for business.

This was contained in a statement made available to the Lusaka Star by LCC Public Relations Officer Lisa Ng’oma.
