LOSE WEIGHT WITHOUT STARVING YOURSELF

There is a common saying that the biggest insult you can call a female is “Fat”. Which is why most people, ladies in particular, do almost the impossible in order to maintain a model’s type of body.

Some people especially students, do not feel the importance of having three meals a day because of the so called “pressure from school” or wanting to have that flat tummy like Beyonce.

But one would wonder whether it’s really necessary to starve yourself in the name of wanting to have a nice figure and risk your health?

You do not have to eat twice or once a day just because you have to cut down on calorie consumption and you don’t need to run many, many miles in order to burn those calories.

Most people have a wrong notion of halving what they usually eat. For example if you eat four slices of bread, you halve it by two, when all you need to do is eat healthier foods and do a bit of exercise.

Replace those sweet and savory junkies with more fruits and vegetables.  But you don’t need to eat the boring fruits and veggies on their own or become a vegan overnight. The best thing to do is to make those boring veggies and fruits appetising, make your journey to weight loss an interesting one.

For example, you can add some peanut butter to your apple or steam some broccoli and add some butter, salt and cheese so as you don’t go green all the way, right?

More importantly, drink a lot of water before each meal as this will help you to eat less and also drink water throughout the day so that you are always hydrated.

Exercise is also very important, but you don’t have to stress yourself too much. As they say, there’s something for everyone. A simple walk will help you burn down some of those extra calories.

Many students waste away in the comfort of their rooms during leisure time. You know! that time when you brag to your friends “I have no class, no assignment, just WiFi” why not utilise that time for some exercise?.

Moreover, you do not need to visit UNZA GYM and spend your BC. Why not use the the fact University of Zambia is a huge place to your advantage? You don’t always have to jog even taking a walk would do.

Moreover going for a walk helps you to reflect on life, past, present and future. It helps to refreshes your brain.

Here are some tips of maintaining a good diet; always eat breakfast (It’s the most important meal of the day). If you eat breakfast it will provide your body with the energy which is going to last the entire morning and prevent you from going to a fast food restaurant.

Secondly, beat the Snack Trap. Choose nutritious snacks that are rich in carbohydrates and proteins. Rather than buying fries or a chocolate bar you might substitute it with small fruits or some nuts.

In addition Choose Foods rich in Carbohydrates. Avoid processed foods which are quickly digested and go for whole grain foods such as brown bread, brown rice, sweet potatoes and so on.

Furthermore, Choose Good Fats. There are certain fats which are good for your body, particularly omega 3 fatty acids are the best. These boost your heart, brain, joint, eye and skin health. Eat oily fish like salmon and tuna as they are very rich in such fatty acids.

And lastly, drink plenty of water all day long; as it said water is the best medicine for many ailments and helps to prevent some of them.

Staying hydrated does everything from boosting energy levels to promoting healthy, glowing skin. Drinking water also helps to flush out toxins and waste products in the body.
