ACE READY TO PULL THE DANCEHALL TRIIGA.

Lusaka based upcoming dancehall, hip hop and afro fusion artist Triiga Ace says he is planning to bring a new type of wave to the Zambian music scene even as he drops his first EP titled Love the struggle this year.

Triiga said the current quality of dancehall music in Zambia is not yet up to the required standards despite the enormous efforts currently being employed by many local artist, thus the need for the introduction of unique and innovative styles.

Having started his professional music career in 2017, the artist, whose real name is Kenneth Lungu opened up to Lusaka Star Entertainment News on how he has journeyed through his music career.

“My passion for music started at a very tender age of 9, since then music became a major part of my life. From 2017 when I started professional music,I have worked with producers like Reverb, Stash and Dre,” he said.

After getting exposed to the art, the 20 year old artist illuminated how he then had opportunities to work with several established artists.

“I have already released two track off the EP namely Places, which features Scott Jedi and Icekid as well as Bounce featuring Drifta Treck,” he added.

Despite not signed to any record label and working as an independent artist, Triiga disclosed his admiration for top selling music brands both on the local and international scenes.

“If given an opportunity to choose a label, I would love to work under Kopala Swag crew locally and Star Boy Entertainment internationally,” Triiga said.

The artist also revealed that he draws his inspiration from international artists such as Drake, Wizkid and Patoranking as well as local dancehall artists like T Sean, Jay Rox and DJ Cosmo.

He added that his music career has not been the easiest thing to do, but pledged: “I will keep doing this because of the love I have for it and I am excited to see where it takes me.”
