Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, in collaboration with the National Arts Council of Zambia (NACZ) has announced the commemoration of the Kwimbo National Arts Festival.
NACZ Director Maanka Chipindi disclosed that the festival, themed “Arts Live Here,” will be held from August 28 to 31, 2025, at Lusaka’s Piazza East Park Mall.
In an interview with Lusaka Star, Mr. Chipindi said the festival would be an opportunity for creative minds in the arts sector to showcase their talents.
“At the festival, we will have performances, music, exhibitions (art), book readings, poetry, and a whole range of activities in short, all the art forms,” he stated.
Mr. Chipindi added that the event will incorporate performances from both established and upcoming artists. For those wishing to join the arts sector, there will also be capacity-building activities.
Mr. Chipindi urged members of the public to attend, as the festival will offer opportunities for networking and engagement, which can help artists develop their work.
Meanwhile, writer Anna Zyambo said she looks forward to the variety of artistic expressions that will be showcased at the festival.
“The Kwimbo National Arts Festival is an opportunity for all Zambians to feel a sense of belonging in the creative industries,” Ms. Zyambo said.
