This year’s 89th Agricultural and Commercial Show is running under the theme “Innovation beyond the golden jubilee” from the 29th July to 3rd August 2015.

Speaking to the Lusaka Star during an interview this morning, UNZABECA president, Willard Mapulanga said young entrepreneurs should use the ongoing show to sell their entrepreneurial ideas to members of the public as well as would be investors.

“A person who does not want to venture in new businesses cannot survive with the current unstable economic status of the country. Entrepreneurs should therefore utilise the show to sell their brilliant entrepreneurial ideas,” he explained.

Mr. Mapulanga added that entrepreneurs especially youths should never look down on their ideas but should instead rise up and overcome the challenges they might be faced with.

“In instances were an entrepreneur is not confident with their ideas, they should work with other entrepreneurs and build on them,” he added.

Meanwhile, University of Zambia Development Studies Association (UNZADESA) president Katongo Sebuya has urged entrepreneurs to use the agriculture show to hunt for look for sponsors to fund their various business ideas.

“Most of the time on TV, we see people with new innovations but we never see these innovations being put to practice. Mostly it is because these innovators lack funds,” he said.

Mr. Sebuya further revealed that the Agricultural show had many sectors apart from Agriculture such as manufacturing which entrepreneurs could use to broaden their horizons.

“One may go with an idea on Business and by mixing with people from different fields of expertise, they may come up with ideas from other fields,” he claimed.

Mr. Sebuya charged that jobs in society are hard to find adding that entrepreneurs should use every opportunity to make money.

He said survival in business is about competitive advantage, only the fittest and most competitive can survive.
