Zamtel launches three new digital services

Zamtel has launched three digital services under the Zamtel Firsts initiative, namely Kongola Malaiti, an upgraded MyZamtel App and Create Your Own Bundle.

Speaking during the launch, Ministry of Technology and Science Permanent Secretary Dr.Brilliant Habeenzu said, the services demonstrated how locally developed digital solutions could improve access to financial and electricity services.

“In a country still expanding energy access, that is not a marketing line, but a development practice,” he said.

He said the upgraded MyZamtel App would enable customers to manage their accounts, payments and other services through their devices, with security features intended to protect their personal and financial information.

He said Zambia’s mobile subscriptions had increased from 20.2 million in 2021 to more than 26 million in 2025, while internet subscriptions had risen from 10.4 million to 14.7 million over the same period.

Meanwhile, Zamtel Commercial Expert Ms.Surie Ramasary said the new services had been developed to address customers’ everyday needs and improve access to the company’s products.

She said the upgraded MyZamtel App would integrate customers’ Zamtel accounts and Zamtel Money into a single platform.

Ramasary said Create Your Own Bundle would allow customers to select their preferred minutes, SMS, data and validity periods instead of relying on fixed packages.

She said Kongola Malaiti would enable eligible Zamtel customers to borrow electricity units through their mobile phones when they ran out of electricity.
