ZESCO fined for ineligible players

ZESCO United Football Club has been fined 10,000 Kwacha for fielding ineligible players in their Week One Zambia Premier League match against Konkola Blades.

ZPL Head of Communications, Christina Zulu said this is in accordance with league regulations, adding that the fine must be paid within seven days.

“The match result has been awarded as a 3–0 victory to Konkola Blades,” Zulu disclosed in a press statement today.

However, Zulu stated that ZESCO United reserves the right to appeal this decision to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee.
