National League playoffs elate soccer analysts

Zambian Football Experts have expressed excitement over the level of talent showcased at the just ended 2025 National Division One Playoffs.

The tournament featured 20 teams 10 in each category with one representative per province in both men’s and women’s football.

Football coach and expert, Chilando Kupikwa, is impressed with the quality of talent displayed in this year’s National Division One League.

“It has been a great National League season compared to the previous ones. this year has shown significant improvement from last,” said Kupikwa.

He commended the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for its efforts in coache’s education.“If a team from Northern Province, like Teta FC, can play that well, it means coaches have been committed to learning,” Kupikwa noted.

Kupikwa further credited the approach taken in player identification and selection for Barts FC of Southern Province.

Meanwhile, football analyst Lucky Chama also praised the age range of players who participated in the tournament.

“Most of the teams had young players, which is very good for a smooth transition into other teams,” said Chama.

He added that the tournament produced quality raw talent that can be nurtured and integrated into bigger teams and even the national team.

Chama also advised football administrators and scouts to use such tournaments for talent identification and turning them into potential top-level players.
