Arguably one of the finest gospel music talents, Karen whose real names are Chileya Kandongo says her latest work of art is entitled 'Another Level.'
Speaking in an interview with the Lusaka star, Karen says her album is a product of hard work, prayer and observing the many situations of her life and the different individuals she comes across.
Karen notes that she does not struggle in composing songs as it is her talent. She has composed all the songs on her upcoming album by herself. She notes that her album was released on the market in late December 2013 and will be launched anytime this year.
“What prompted me to compose Another level is how sometimes a Christian will remain on one level, doing the usual routine and hence reach a point where you sit down and say; God, thank you for this opportunity, but father I need you to take me to another level,” Karen explains.
"To people whose lives are touched by my music, it is an encouragement that my gift from God is indeed benefiting the kingdom of God. The fact that people appreciate my work and by many testimonies given forth is a big pat on my back to do even more for Gods kingdom," she adds.
Karen explains that her music bringing a positive change on God’s children is her joyous reward.
The gospel artist says she is waiting on sponsors to come on board and partner with her on her latest project.
Karen was also nominated at the Zambian Music Awards (ZMA) 2014 in the Best Female Gospel Artiste category in which she came out victorious beating the likes of Racheal and Suwilanji.
The 2014 ZMA Best Female Gospel Artiste encourages young and upcoming gospel artistes to concentrate on the work of God adding that they should be prayerful. She further advises them to exercise patience, humility and develop a personal relationship with God because without all these attributes it can be frustrating.
Karen has also implored the Intellectual Property Unit in the Zambia Police Service to continue with the fight against piracy.
The songbird hopes 2014 will be the year she makes a big sale and that her message reaches a large population. She also hopes to find a good distributor for her music outside Zambia to countries such as Tanzania.
Her nine-track album consists of songs such as Dance, Na my choice, Ziibaleko, Kunkala na yesu, Another level, Nitanda wapi, Wont stop me, Thank you and Nimulungu.
Super Shine Investments will distribute her album.
