UNZASU  Urges Students to Remain Calm

The University of Zambia Student Union (UNZASU) has urged the student populace to remain united, even as they navigate this difficult time.

This comes after a critical and sad situation where a student drowned in one of the sewer lines being worked on.

Speaking during a press briefing, UNZASU President Mwato Kabaso said the situation at hand has been a problem for years, and it’s high time it’s addressed with permanent solutions.

“This is not a problem of today, but a problem the university has seen for quite some time,” Kabaso said.

Meanwhile, UNZASU Vice President Jemimah Mwaba expressed sadness over the tragic loss of Emmanuel Bwalya, who drowned in one of the sewer lines on Tuesday.

“This is not a time that should break us; this is not the time that should make us stand divided, but it is the time that should make us draw closer together,” she said.

She reaffirmed her commitment to serving the interests of students, stating that all necessary measures have been taken and now students have to wait for the work to commence.

“It is not an easy thing, but I must commend them,It’ll be very bad of us to forget even the good things the government has done for us,” she said.
