UNZA VACANCIES HOAX- CHIBALE

The University of Zambia (UNZA)  has distanced itself from information suggesting employment opportunities circulating on social media  adding that it is a hoax.

UNZA Public Relations Officer Mr. Damaseke Chibale  revealed that the information is fake adding that it is a calculated move to swindle members of the public of their hard earned money.

“There are unscrupulous people circulating false information on social media that the University has employment opportunities to unsuspecting individuals from who they are extorting K200 for medical certificates. The University of Zambia Management would like to advise the public that the information is FAKE which is calculated to swindle members of the public of their hard earned money,” Chibale said.

His statement follows the advertisements on social media seeking for from qualified candidates to suit various positions and requesting for monies as security for the job from unknown persons.

Chibale said the University of Zambia and its Management uses public media and its official website to announce its employment opportunities.

“The University of Zambia does not handle cash but directs its clients to deposit money in its accounts with registered commercial banks and the institution has a proper channel of communicating to its successful candidates/applicants,” said Chibale.

Furthermore, he said the persons mentioned in the advert circulating on social media are not bona fide members of staff of the University of Zambia but fraudsters.

Chibale has since advised members of the public to always confirm with the institution for any suspicious information about the University operations, employment and enrollments.
