Soccer fans anticipate EPL 2023/24 season on ZNBC

Some soccer fans have expressed high expectations for the airing of the English Premier League (EPL) 2023/24  season on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC).

The excitement follows ZNBC’s announcement on August 25, 2023, regarding their acquisition of broadcast rights for 31 EPL matches.

Adrian Mwandia, a soccer fan, expressed his joy at the prospect of EPL matches airing on ZNBC.

“This is a huge bonus for soccer lovers who cannot afford to buy and pay for Digital Satellite Television (DSTV),” he said.

However, Mr. Mwandia called on ZNBC to consider increasing the number of games to be televised, highlighting the growing demand for high-quality soccer coverage.

In contrast, Comfort Phiri, another soccer fan, stressed the importance of ZNBC improving their broadcasting standards, particularly when it comes to showcasing EPL games.

“Sometimes ZNBC does not televise interesting games, so I hope that this time, the station selects intriguing matches to air,” he said.

Meanwhile, Annie Mukabe, ZNBC’s Head of Corporate Affairs, assured the public of the corporation’s commitment to delivering top-notch sporting events.

“ZNBC will consistently broadcast one game every Saturday, with no games scheduled for Sundays, Ms Mukabe said.

Ms Mukabe also revealed that during the week, ZNBC would provide viewers with highlights of the Premier League matches played over the weekend.
