SMEs IN K15 MILLION FUNDING FOR CAPACITY BUILDING

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has partnered with the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry to build capacity among entrepreneurs at a cost of K15 million.

In a statement made on the ministry’s Facebook page, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry said the partnership is meant to equip entrepreneurs with the right skill and financial capital to use in their businesses.

The financial capital will enable entrepreneurs to use these new skills in business to better enrich their lives through funding and mentorship.

The Ministry also disclosed that an investment of over K15 million has been injected into the project.

This initiative is targeted at both the formal and informal sector and an investment of K15.28 million has been made into the project.

The Ministry encouraged entrepreneurs, SMEs and Business owners to take interest and apply for the program with ZDA.

The project dubbed ‘Zambia Development Agency for SMEs Funding’ was launched to create an enabling environment for increased domestic and foreign direct investment, trade and industrial development, as well as to position and safeguard the interest of Zambia in the regional and global economy by providing the much needed financial mentor-ship.

The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry is responsible for the development and management of Zambia’s economic regulatory administration, in Partnership with Zambia Development Agency (ZDA).

ZDA, the basis on which the country’s domestic and external economic relations are conducted, promotes growth and development of the economy through the formulation and implementation of appropriate policies to attract investment, increase trade as well as develop and expand the country’s industrial base.
