Lolavye, a.k.a ‘Lo Sims’, emerged the winner of the October competition with 72 votes while the runner up, Livin2Die, received 47 votes.

In an interview with the Lusaka Star, Lo Sims says he feels blessed to have won the award as he believed it has opened avenues for him such as working with legendary producer, Dida Steez, who is set to produce one of his songs for free as per winning package from Kountapoint.

The winner also gets free cover art, promo designs, career and branding tips and marketing leading up to the release of the song.

Lolavye is grateful to his fans for voting for him in the competition.

“Keep supporting me in my music career and I will deliver the best food for your soul,” he urges his fans.

“All the contestants were good. I am glad I have been chosen as the winner. This is my first award in my music career. I am looking forward to more opportunities of such kind,” he says.

Lolavye states that the mixtape (A Path Revealed) he submitted for the competition consists of 14 songs among them wounded, sex before marriage and amalumbo yonse.

He featured the likes of Soba, Poyez and Cathy on his mixtape in his songs wounded, sex before marriage and amalumbo yonse respectively.

The songs are currently receiving massive airplay on UNZA Radio.

He explains that he was inspired to title his mixtape ‘A Path Revealed’ because of the wayward lives he has observed most youths living, contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“I needed to use my gift of rap to reach out and remind my fellow youths the right path they should tread daily. A Path Revealed is a reminder of how to lead a Christ like life. The songs in it encourage people to refrain from being attached to worldly pleasures,” he says.

Lolavye, who is also a second year Mass Communication student at the University of Zambia admits it is challenging to juggle music and school.

“But by God’s grace, I manage to succeed in both areas. I would not give up any of them,” he states.

Lolavye reveals he recorded a track dubbed ‘Armour of victory’ last Friday and featured the talented Sobre.

“I am set to record unborn beauty with Tasila Mwale. The release of these two singles is something my fans should look out for. I will communicate the release dates later though,” he says.

The 22 year old rapper plans to release his first music album as soon as he raises enough funds for the project.
