Government says it will continue investing in the economy to create job opportunities for graduates and young people across the country.
Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati implored graduates to remain curious, open minded and innovative as they navigate the job market and workplace dynamics.
Speaking during the 2025 UNZA Catholic Graduation Mass on Sunday,at the Chapel , Mr. Mutati advised graduates to prepare for real world challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties in their careers.
“Learn from failure and see it as a stepping stone to growth. This is the beginning of a journey full of opportunities,” he said.
Speaking at the same event, Munali Constituency Member of Parliament, Mike Mposha encouraged University of Zambia (UNZA) graduates to remain true to their values.
Mr. Mposha said graduates should be open to new experiences as they step into their professional journeys.
He also acknowledged the infrastructure and accommodation challenges facing the university, saying the government has already begun addressing the issues.
Mr. Mposha further urged graduates to contribute positively to the university’s alumni network, emphasising that the institution requires their continued support.
Meanwhile, Mufulira College of Teacher Education lecturer, Sister Lucy Mwesa reminded graduates to uphold the moral and professional expectations society holds for them.
She stressed the importance of integrity, self-sacrifice, discipline and commitment.
“As you enter the workforce, the community expects the highest standards of integrity. You must be diligent, professional, and committed to delivering the work for which you are employed,” she said.
Sr. Mwesa further urged graduates to prioritise punctuality and reduce time spent on social media during work hours.
