ZAMBIA GEARED TO FACE NAMIBIA THIS SATURDAY

Zambia national team midfielder Jack Chirwa has said the team will treat the  clash with Namibia this weekend seriously.

Chirwa said the team is confident in lifting the COSAFA trophy this year after having emerged runners-up in 2017.

In as much as Namibia is a strong side, Zambia has prepared adequately for the match.

“The game against Namibia will not be easy but we will just work hard so that we win… We have played them many times and the most important thing is to coordinate. We want to reach and win the final.

“The new comers are working hard and even we who have been around are also fighting,” Chirwa explained.

Chirwa, a versatile Green Buffaloes midfielder was in action when Zambia drew with Namibia at the CHAN tournament last year.

And stand in coach Beston Chambeshi will lead the Chipolopolo at the 2018 COSAFA Castle Cup that is currently underway in Limpopo Province of South Africa.

Zambia has not recorded a win over Namibia in their last three matches, with Namibia winning one and drawing two.

Zambia joins the ongoing tournament at the quarterfinal stage, and will open its campaign against Namibia on Saturday at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium at 18: 00 hours local time.
