CHIPOLOPOLO NEEDS A FOREIGN COACH, SOCCER ANALYST

A soccer analyst has commended the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) for commencing the selection process for a head coach for the Chipolopolo senior national team.

Speaking in an interview with Lusaka Star, Stanslaus Kunda said that at the moment, all indications show that the Zambia national soccer team needs a foreign coach.

He said the under-performance in international assignments by local coaches is the main reason why the football house may settle for a foreign coach.

Kunda further said that whoever will be chosen to train the national soccer team should not only consider coming with his own technical team but also consider local coaches to assist on the technical bench.

He added that this will be a learning opportunity for local coaches to acquire knowledge for the growth of the local league.

The Football Association of Zambia is next month expected to reduce the over fifty applicants for the Chipolopolo coaching job to a 15-man shortlist.

Applications for the Chipolopolo Coach position were closed on November 25, 2019.
