Ms Zambia-USA joins #sendbetty2school campaign

Current Miss Zambia USA Nakabinga Katandula has joined the #sendbetty2school Campaign which aims at promoting girl child education. Current Miss Zambia USA Nakabinga Katandula has joined the #sendbetty2school Campaign which aims at promoting girl child education.

Ms Katandula attended the official launch of #sendbetty2school campaign which took place on 15th March in Atlanta, Georgia.

She is scheduled to travel to Zambia soon to work with the #sendbetty2school campaign team in collaboration with the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).

In its quest to promote girl child education, the campaign secures funds from donors and sponsors vulnerable girls in the country to school at primary and secondary levels.

Ms Katandula is also collecting school items such as pens, pencils, books, socks, shoes, teaching materials and scholarship funds which will be donated to Kiddy Daycare and Nursery in Kabwe.

In a letter to #sendbetty2school campaign team, Ms Katandula explained that the Miss Zambia USA Beauty Pageant was not only a pageant but also a driving force for community development.

She saidthe pageant honours Zambian ladies in the USA, giving them a chance to continue their work on platforms in Zambia while serving local communities in America.

#sendbetty2school Campaign Coordinator Musop kalenga said with the help of many, the team can help build strong learning foundations for children who cannot afford quality education.

Ms Kalenga has since called on people to come on board especially the Zambian youths living abroad.
