The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has appointed a 17-member Commercial and Marketing Advisory Committee as part of efforts to strengthen its financial base and expand revenue streams.
In a press statement issued by FAZ Head of Media and Communications Nkweto Tembwe said,the committee was constituted following a resolution by its executive committee and aligns with the association’s broader strategy to enhance commercial sustainability and attract investment into Zambian football.
“The appointed members include Mizinga Melu, Chief Executive Officer of Absa Bank Zambia, Bridget Kambobe, a marketing and communications specialist, Hazel Couvaras, Customer Experience Director at Zamtel, Brian Siatubi of Konkola Copper Mines Webster Malido CEO of the Independent Broadcasting Authority and Eugene Phiri,” he said.
Tembwe said that the committee, established as an ad hoc body in line with FIFA provisions and pursuant to Article 50 of the FAZ Constitution, will focus on key commercial areas including sponsorship, marketing initiatives, and investment opportunities.
He stated that FAZ has so far named 16 members, with one more expected to complete the full composition of 17.
He further revealed other members who are Jito Kayumba, Special Advisor to President Hakainde Hichilema on Finance and Investment, Lewis Mosho, a Lusaka-based lawyer and financial markets expert, Semba Chimbalanga of Copperbelt Energy Corporation, Lee Kawanu, proprietor of Kafue Celtics Football Club, Marcus Ascott and Moses Mubanga.
The committee also includes Milingo Lungu, Tehrak Mehta, Solomon Ngoma, and Katongo Chilufya.
He further highlighted the committee’s mandate will include advising on strategies to dismantle legacy debts, identifying sustainable revenue opportunities, bridging financing gaps, and supporting the long-term growth of football in Zambia.
Tembwe said the appointments took effect on May 1, 2026, and will run for a period of 24 months, in line with the committee’s terms of reference, unless otherwise determined by the FAZ Executive Committee.
