Born and Bread award winning gospel artist Chaka Nyathando, popularly known as Pompi, says he is working on promoting upcoming gospel artists in the country in a bid to make Zambia the gospel capital in 2016.
Speaking to the Lusaka Star after a spectacular performance at a fundraising concert held at the University of Zambia on Saturday, Pompi said he is working with a number of upcoming gospel artists in order to spread the gospel through music.
‘‘As we enter 2016, fans should expect more good music because I am working with a huge team now. I am promoting a lot of new artists who are willing to spread the gospel through music,” he assured.
Pompi said he wanted to promote emerging artists as a way of making sure the gospel is spread throughout the country.
The artist also advised Zambians not worry about money, as God was everyone’s sole provider.
‘‘I feel the creator of money is God. If birds do not worry about what they are going to eat, why then should we, children of God worry about ourselves?’’ he questioned.
Earlier, gospel music songbird, Racheal implored students who were in attendance to be representatives of Jesus Christ.
Upcoming gospel rapper Lolavye Simukoko (Lo Sims ) warmed up the stage with his latest hit single ‘Bliss’.
The concert was held in a bid to raise funds for the fellowship’s missionary trip to Namibia in the coming months.
