Zambian Judo National Team Coach, Boas Munyongo, says he is confident that the Zambia Judo National Team will perform well at the ongoing African Judo Open Tournament.
Munyongo declared the team ready, comprising both boys and girls, for the tournament currently taking place in Pretoria, South Africa, which kicked off on June 26 and will finish on June 29, 2025.
“I believe that they are going to do their best, as we coaches have done our part in preparing them, and it’s now up to them to deliver,” he said in an interview with the Lusaka Star.
Munyongo also said he is confident the team will do their best and bring medals home to the country.
Meanwhile, Judo athlete Rita Kabinda expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity offered to her and the team, which she said would be harnessed to improve their skills.
“I just want to bring back the gold to Zambia, and for everyone to bring back medals, because we have worked really hard for this,” she said.
