HH mourns Lungu

President Hakainde Hichilema has called on citizens to unite following the death of the sixth President, Edgar Lungu, this morning at Mediclinic Medforum Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa.

Dr. Lungu was in South Africa, where he had gone to receive specialized treatment.

President Hichilema expressed sorrow over the passing of Dr. Lungu, urging citizens to come together regardless of political affiliation or personal conviction to honor the life of the former president.

“As Africans, and more so as Christians, this moment calls for solemnity, unity and an outpouring of love and compassion,” President Hichilema said in a statement posted on his official Facebook page.

He further urged the public to show respect and support to the bereaved family and to uphold the values of peace and togetherness in the spirit of patriotism and national solidarity.

Meanwhile African Leaders have expressed deep sorrow on the untimely death of Zambia’s Sixth President Edgar Lungu.Our condolences to the family and the people of Zambia for the untimely death of Former President Edgar Lungu.

Kenyan President William Ruto described Dr. Lungu as a progressive and outstanding leader who served the people of Zambia with zeal and commitment.

“May God grant the people of Zambia strength and comfort during this painful time,” he stated
