1XBET has donated football equipment worth K120 thousand to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in a move aimed at supporting the development of the sport across the country.
The donation includes 30 sets each of yellow and blue bibs, more than 300 match balls, 60 sets of long cones, 30 sets of marker discs, and 30 referee flag sets complete with whistles and cards.
Speaking during a press briefing, FAZ General Secretary Charles Chakatazya said the association was grateful to receive the generous donation from 1XBET.
“The government cannot shoulder this responsibility alone. The corporate sector has an important role to play in the development of the game, particularly in creating opportunities for young people,” he said.
Chakatazya also thanked the Government of the Republic of Zambia for its continued support towards the development of football and the Zambia national teams.
He noted that FAZ currently has 11 national teams, all of which require resources for training, travel and technical preparations. He added that the demands are enormous and called on the corporate sector to complement government’s efforts by investing in football development.
Meanwhile, 1XBET Acting Country Representative Kafupi Muwana thanked FAZ for the opportunity to support the growth of football in Zambia.
“We hope that this equipment will help create better conditions for training, matches and football development wherever it is needed across the country,” Muwana said.
He added that football is deeply rooted in communities across Zambia and that supporting its development is one way of contributing to the growth and future of the sport in the country.
