In an interview with the Lusaka star, Hockey Association National Coordinator Thomas Mumba said eight female and 10 male teams from seven African countries will be participating during the prestigious tourney.
“Over 350 athletes will battle it out in the event which is hosted annually for the top African hockey clubs. But for Zambia, eight females and 10 males will feature in this year's tournament,” he said.
Mr. Mumba said he is hopeful that the two Zambian teams comprising of young athletes will perform according to his expectation as they adequately prepared for the tourney.
Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia are among the countries that will be participating.
Zambia hosted the first Africa Cup of Club Championships hockey tournament at the Olympic Youth Development Centre in 2011 when hockey was being revived in the country.
