ZAMBIA'S Republican President has challenged youths to be agents of positive change and to reposition themselves in an effort to contribute positively to the social and economic development agenda. Speaking in Lusaka yesterday during the launch of the 2015 Youth policy and action Plan for Youth Empowerment and Employment, President Edgar Lungu said no meaningful development can take place without the full participation of the youth adding that the youth are the posterity of any nation.

The University of Zambia Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department has called on the government to adopt  a mobile voting system during elections.   ICT Expert Catherine Saboi told the Lusaka Star in an interview that mobile voting offers the opportunity for voters to cast votes conveniently. Ms Saboi ,however, said  if this was to work effectively, there would be need for tight security measures.

AN independent consultant on good governance and democracy Roman Mukendi has called for youth participation in governance. Mr. Mukendi said youths should take interest in the governance process and should advocate for representation. He has since challenged youths to contest for elections and demand for amendments to the constitution that would give them more opportunities to participate in governance structures of the Zambia.
