A University of Zambia (UNZA) economics lecturer says agriculture can be a major source of foreign exchange if it was given more attention by government and other stakeholders. In an interview with Lusaka star, Mr. Abson Chompolola said the country had the capacity to develop the agricultural sector to a point where it could contribute to the development of the country by bringing in the much needed foreign exchange.
THE University of Zambia (UNZA) will this year host and participate in three major sports tournaments. Among the sporting activities include the African Staff Sports Association (SAUSSA), the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Association (CUCSA) and the Zambia Federation of University and College sports (ZAFUCS) tournaments.
THE University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) has said the introduction of University of Zambia (UNZA) inter-hostel football league will encourage students to participate in sports at the institution. The league which began on the 8th of this February 2014 will run from terms two and three of UNZA's academic year over the weekends.
ZAMBIA has successfully handed over the Kavango Zambezi Trans Frontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) Chairpersonship to Zimbabwe as a coordinating country for KAZA TFCA programmes for the next two years commencing January 2013. Chairing the KAZA TFCA Ministerial Committee meeting held at Court Yard Hotel in Livingstone, Tourism and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo said KAZA TFCA was a joint initiative among five governments namely Botswana, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Mr. Kanyama’s observations follows the recent technical problems experienced during the Zimbabwe Zambia match as well as the Zambia Uganda Africa Cup qualifier game hosted in Uganada.
The Bank of Zambia has intensified its nationwide campaign aimed at sensitizing the public on the rebasing of the local currency. Bank of Zambia Manager for Communications and Protocol Besnat Mwanza revealed that the central bank has deployed a ten man team to educate the public on the process of rebasing.
The stripping of three points from Sudan in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Zambia because one of its scorers was ineligible to play should serve as a warning to sports associations says Zambia Voluntary Soccer Fans Association (ZAVASOFA) Patron, Pastor Peter Makembo. Speaking in an interview with the Lusaka star, Pastor Makembo said the incident should not only be a warning to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), but also to other sports associations that want to field ineligible players in the country - cheating has got penalties.
