THE United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Lusaka Presbytery has embarked on a project to set up a radio station in Lusaka. In an interview with the Lusaka Star, UCZ Lusaka Presbytery Bishop Rodwell Chomba said setting up a community radio station would help the church have a voice and add to the many voices speaking on matters affecting people in various communities. He added that the radio station would also be used to propagate the word of God to communities within the catchment area of the station.

North-Western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu has said community media plays a significant role in promoting good governance and national development. Mr. Mubukwanu said community radio ensures that the public is well informed and decides on issues of national interest. He said this at the handover ceremony of Lukulu Community Radio staion recently.

Newly elected Zambia Women Media Association (ZAMWA) chairperson Felistus Chipako has called on all female Journalists in Zambia to be advocators of issues pertaining to their sex in order to promote women development in the country.   Ms. Chipeko was speaking when she featured on ZNBC’s Open Line programme, Monday, dubbed; ‘women in the media’.
