AIRTEL Zambia will spend about $ 5, 000 USD on a new corporate social responsibility programme aimed at helping vulnerable communities in society. Speaking to the Lusaka Star in an interview at the ongoing 89th Agriculture and Commercial Show, Airtel Zambia head of corporate communications and government relations Yoyo Kambikambi said the corporation is supplementing government’s effort to bring about development and bettering the lives of Zambians.

AIRTEL, Zamtel and MTN Zambia mobile phone users have complained about the number of promotional messages that are sent to their phones without their consent. One of the subscribers, Joseph Musengo, said in an interview with the Lusaka Star that it was irritating that Airtel, ZAMTEL and MTN had continued sending promotional messages at awkward times. Musengo said it was unfortunate that the three mobile phone service providers had continued to disturb the consumers through messages and phone calls to advertise their promotions.

Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Director General Chibamba Kanyama has said the national broadcaster has a huge challenge in covering live games.   Mr. Kanyama’s observations follows the recent technical problems experienced during the Zimbabwe Zambia match as well as the Zambia Uganda Africa Cup qualifier game hosted in Uganada.
