KENYA, ZAMBIA FIGHT FOR VICTORIA CUP

THE Zambia National Rugby Team will this weekend play Kenya to compete for the prestigious Victoria Cup at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi Kenya.

This will be the first time that Kenya will be hosting a Victoria Cup match after a seven-year hiatus of the tournament.

The last fixture played in Nairobi was on July 23, 2011 at Nyayo Stadium where Zimbabwe beat Kenya 23-21 and won the Victoria Cup.

Meanwhile, the match between Kenya and Zambia will be the second meeting in a row after the two teams met in less than a month in which Zambia lost 23-43 at Diggers Rugby Club in Kitwe.

Appointed match day Captain Curtis Lilako said that he believes Kenya is ready for the match this weekend and he has since urged the fans to show up in numbers and support them.

And Kenya coach Paul Odera said his lads will not change the attack and defense systems because that would confuse the players adding that they are just refining the players so that they can be ready for this mouthwatering encounter that will see Zambian and Kenyan fans divided once again following the earlier division which occurred early this year when Catherine Phiri fought Fatuma Zarika in a deadly boxing match in which the former lost.
