THE release of one of Zambia's finest gospel music artists' second album that was set to be launched on valentine's day has been postponed to next month. Abel Chungu Musuka, an artist with international reckon, an expanding fan base and a rare super breed of the gospel of Christ as well as a committed minister of God expressed disappointment at the delay of the launch of the much awaited album " Love Unleashed".
NATIONAL Arts Council chairperson Mulenga Kapwepwe has said her association is working towards setting up a national film fund. Ms. Kapwepwe says the film fund will help local film makers finance their projects and encourage them produce more films. She was speaking at the first ever Annual Christian Independent Film Makers Festival 2013 (ACIF) which was held at Freshview cinemas in Lusaka recently.
The film Industry in Zambia has in the recent past seen a tremendous growth, with many Zambian’s being able to produce movies locally. Local film producer Owas Mwape alludes to the fact that film production in Zambia is growing at a fast rate and will gradually contribute to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.
FOUNDER and lead singer of the Malembe Malembe gospel team, Kings Mumbi has urged upcoming artistes not to use gospel music as a money making mission. Kings Mumbi popularly known as Kings Malembe said gospel music was a calling from God and that for one to be able to deliver the good news, the word of God has to be deposited in them. “Artistes should be ministers of God’s word through their music,” he said.
WITH his controversial new album yet to be launched, ‘Ruff Kaida’ formerly known as ‘Ruff kid’ has received criticism over the cover photo and contents of his album dubbed ‘The Naked Truth.’ Other than the ‘Naked Truth’ controversy, the reason behind the change of his name has raised a lot of clouds among his keen followers and fans. In an interview with The Lusaka Star, Masautso Nkhoma aka Ruff Kaida said he wants to speak the truth through his songs.

Rita Chiyayika ZAMBIA Fashion Week organiser and Afro Multi Media Productions director, Karen Nakawala has confirmed October 17 to 19 as the official date for this year’s Zambia Fashion Week. Speaking during the audition held in Lusaka, Ms Nakawala says the on-coming event will create a platform for models to try out their skills and promote their modelling career.
