Today at 15:00hrs the Army sponsored side Green Buffaloes will hope to upset visiting Forest Rangers at the newly renovated Independence Stadium in Lusaka. Buffaloes will however be without the veteran skipper Christopher Katongo who was ruled out of action for two weeks following a muscle injury. The former Chipolopolo captain last Sunday missed Green Buffaloes’ 1-0 away victory to Power Dynamos due to injury.
NKANA’S hope to move further away from the MTN Super League relegation zone have been thwarted by a one all draw with Red Arrows. Nkana, who were sitting on 17 points before the game would have easily escaped relegation zone with an outright win climbing up to ninth position on the log table. The draw sees Nkana retaining the 12th position with 18 points, one behind 13th placed National Assembly who have a game in hand.
Soccer Analyst Andrew Musonda has placed his belief in the Zambia National Soccer Team after they beat Malawi in a preparatory match ahead of the upcoming COSAFA tournament to be hosted by South Africa. In an interview with the Lusaka Star, Mr. Musonda said he believes the Chipolopolo Boys will deliver at the tournament if they maintain their performaace. Mr. Musonda said that the performance displayed by the team was satisfactory and proved the critics wrong.
