Former Zambian senior netball team coach Pauline Nsombwe and current NAPSA netball team coach has urged more women to take up the role
ZANIS LUSAKA - The Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZSFA) is disappointed with the national team’s early exit at the on-going World Netball Championship in Australia. ZSFA Patron Pastor Peter Makembo attributed the team’s poor performance to the untimely changes made to the technical bench prior to the team’s departure for the tournament.
THE University of Zambia (UNZA) Inter Hostels League will this weekend come to life as the tournament commences with different sports teams in various sports disciplines ready to battle it out for the ultimate challenge. The league which has for many years accommodated only male football will for the first time accommodate other sports disciplines which among them include female football, basketball, netball and volleyball.
THE University of Zambia (UNZA) will this year host and participate in three major sports tournaments. Among the sporting activities include the African Staff Sports Association (SAUSSA), the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Association (CUCSA) and the Zambia Federation of University and College sports (ZAFUCS) tournaments.
THE Zambia Inter-University Tournament organised by the Zambia University Sports Association (ZUSA) kicked off yesterday at the Copperbelt University (CBU) in Kitwe. The three day tournament will run from 14th to 16th February 2014 and will comprise various sporting disciplines such as basketball, netball, volleyball, football, rugby, badminton, chess, scrabble and tennis. The tournament which is held annually attracts participation from various universities across the country.
THE Zambia Police sponsored netball team, Green Eagles have won the Midlands Netball Association League Championship after swatting defending champions, Green Buffaloes in a convincing style. The fiercely contested netball match ended with a score line of 24-19 after the Zambia Army side, Green Buffaloes, failed to equalize in the second half.
