LEAGUE champions Zesco United remained on course of defending the title they won last season after they defeated Konkola Blades 1 – 0 in a week 22 match played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday. Kenyan defender David Owino popped up to head home a free kick driven into the area by Justin Zulu following a foul on Mwape Mwelwa by Godfrey Chibanga. The victory meant that Zesco United moved to 52 points and maintained a seven point lead from second placed Power Dynamos.

Government  has urged all the district bodies on the Copperbelt to utilize their funds to avoid retains to the treasury. Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela said this during a Copperbelt Provincial Development Committee Meeting (PDCC) held n Ndola. Reverend Sikwela said all the departments on the Copperbelt that would not spend their funds within the stipulated time frame would risk not being given more funds.

ZESCO United moves back to the top of the MTN/FAZ super league table after  defeating city rivals Forest rangers 1-0. A week 23 fixture played on saturday at former Zesco home ground, the trade fair stadium in Ndola witnessed the former champions make a quick climb on top of the FAZ super league table. The only goal of the Ndola derby was scored by Akalulubelwa Mwachiaba giving Zesco a first flight in the title race. Title rivals, Nkana suffered a 1-1 draw against the reigning champions Zanaco.
