THE Zambia Sports Fans Associations (ZSFA) has expressed disappointment over the Football Association of Zambia’s (FAZ) failure to pay the Zambia National Women’s soccer team allowances in full following their early exist from the just ended Africa Women Championship (AWC).
MUTENDERE Football Club owner Simataa Simataa has described the life ban issued on him by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) as unfortunate and unfair. Simaataa had been charged with making disparaging remarks and taking legal action against some of the FAZ employees. In a later dated March 23, 2014 addressed to Simataa, FAZ general secretary George Kasengele said Simataa had been banned after he was found guilty of violating the FAZ Disciplinary Code and the Constitution.
SOME soccer fans associations have called on the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to consider employing local coaches to lead the national soccer team. Chipolopolo Soccer Fans Association president, Yotam Mwanza told the Lusaka Star that local coaches had the potential to coach the national soccer team citing Ben Bamfuchile and Patrick Phiri as such coaches.
FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) Communications Manager Erick Mwanza, says qualifying to the 2014 African Nations Championships (CHAN) finals in South Africa is of great significance to football development in Zambia. In an interview with the Lusaka Star, Mwanza said the CHAN championship was a very important tournament for football development. Mwanza said the Zambia developmental squad was a good and hard working team with potential of winning the return leg CHAN qualifier match against Botswana.
FORMER Copperbelt Zambia National Team Supporters Association Chairperson, Humprey Ngulube, has advised Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to find a solution to the national team's continued poor performance. Ngulube said in an interview that FAZ should seek help from the Coaches Association of Zambia to improve the team’s recent poor performance. Ngulube said there was need for FAZ to learn to hear from players adding that players should also listen to their coaches.

THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has donated medical equipment meant for the detection of possible cardiac arrest in players to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ). Speaking in an interview with the Lusaka Star, FAZ Communications Manager Eric Mwanza said that the equipment was meant to improve the capacity of team doctors to contain cardiac arrest and other heart related complications among players in the country.
