Government has urged all the district bodies on the Copperbelt to utilize their funds to avoid retains to the treasury. Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Howard Sikwela said this during a Copperbelt Provincial Development Committee Meeting (PDCC) held n Ndola. Reverend Sikwela said all the departments on the Copperbelt that would not spend their funds within the stipulated time frame would risk not being given more funds.
Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Plc and the Mwekera National Aquaculture Research and Development Centre (NARDC) have restocked the Kafue river with 20, 000 fingerlings to replenish depleted stocks. KCM Executive Director, David Ng’andu says the company had between 2008 and this year restocked rivers on the Copperbelt with over 80, 000 fingerlings.
