Zambia National Soccer team coach Patrice Beaumelle has said that he was impressed with Zambia’s performance in an international friendly match against Japan. Speaking to the media at a press briefing, Beaumelle said despite losing by a goal, the Chipolopolo boys deserved to be praised for a job well done. He added that no one was to be blamed for the 4-3 loss against Japan adding that the loss was a call for hard work.
Katongo, who has also been nominated for the BBC 2012 Africa footballer of the year award, failed to make the final five after voting by national coaches, technical directors and captains. Speaking in an interview with the Lusaka star, Zambia Voluntary Soccer Fans Association (ZAVASOFA) Patron Pastor Peter Makembo said that a petition was submitted to FAZ General Secretary George Kasengele on Tuesday morning and that he expected CAF to answer soon.
